Laurel and Hardy Signed Autograph Photo [E002]

A mounted 4.5x3 black and white photo signed clearly in black ink by one of the most famous comedy duos of all time Laurel and Hardy. The pair became famous during the early half of the 20th century for their work in motion pictures and also appeared on stage throughout America and Europe. The two comedians first worked together on the silent film The Lucky Dog. After a period appearing separately in several short films for the Hal Roach studio during the 1920s, they began appearing in movie shorts together in 1926. Laurel and Hardy officially became a team the following year, and soon became Hal Roach's most famous and lucrative stars. Among their most popular and successful films were the features Sons of the Desert (1933), Way Out West (1937), and Block-Heads (1938) and the shorts Big Business (1929), Liberty (1929), and their Academy Award-winning short, The Music Box (1932). The photo has been mounted in an almond mount and the overall size is approx 10x8 inches. The photo comes with a hardback 'Quote, Unquote' book where Stan and Ollie talk about the first time they went on stage, the characters they played, how they worked together and going on tour. They tell all about their backstage antics and what it was like to work with other comedy greats such as Charlie Chaplin. Both the photo and the book are in its original box which is in mint condition. Please contact us if you would like clearer images.
